Abigale Miller bio
Abigale Lee
Miller(born on 21st September 1965) is an American choreographer, dance
instructor and reality TV personality. Abby Lee Dance Company is her creation,
which was a reality show that aired for eight seasons on Dance Moms. Miller
admitted guilt on June 27th, 2016 to criminal bankruptcy fraud. Miller was
sentenced for one and a half years in federal prison and released on March 27,
2018. She was diagnosed with lymphoma in April of this year. It is a form of
cancer that leaves her incapable of walking. In order to move about, she now
uses a wheelchair. Miller was born in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. She was a
dancer who studied under her mother at Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. Miller, then
14, was given the choreography and instruction of one of her mother’s dance
competition teams. Miller assumed control of the company and changed it's name
to Reign Dance Productions in 1995. Miller was recognized as a certified dancer
by Dance Masters of America in 1986, and became an official part of Dance
Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter 10 in February 2012. However Miller's
membership was terminated by DMA in February 2012, after the DMA declared that
Miller's reality TV show Dance Moms was "a complete misrepresentation of
teachers and students of dance and is damaging to the profession of
dance."
